About the Federal Face-off
In 2019, agents and officers from the United States Secret Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation came together at USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, MD, for the inaugural Federal Face-off, a historic lacrosse game between members of these two historic law enforcement agencies. Becoming more than just a game, the event strengthened the long-standing partnership between the agencies while raising funds for law enforcement charities. Through this initiative, members of the USSS and FBI forged a meaningful relationship with Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the families, co-workers, and survivors of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.
Each year, 140 to 160 officers make the ultimate sacrifice, leaving behind loved ones whose lives are forever changed. Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) provides critical resources to help them rebuild, offering essential support in the wake of unimaginable loss. Since its inception, the USSS vs. FBI charity lacrosse games have successfully raised nearly $40,000 for C.O.P.S. These funds have supported multiple scholarships and helped cover travel expenses for widows and widowers attending the National Police Week Candlelight Vigil, where their fallen officer is honored and recognized for their service and sacrifice.
In 2025, the 6th annual Federal Face-off will take center stage as a marquee game at Shootout for Soldiers Annapolis, adding even more excitement and prestige to the game. To expand the community impact surrounding the game, SFS Annapolis will feature 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade youth games, fostering the next generation of lacrosse players while instilling a deep respect for service and sacrifice. Additionally, a historic FBI-NAVY vs NYPD women’s game, and First Responders vs. Veterans game will be held, serving as a powerful tribute to those who protect and serve both at home and abroad.
Tickets and registration are available through the Shootout for Soldiers Website.
